Friends

The Chaplaincy is hoping to establish a Friends Group for former worshippers and residents to help keep them in touch with one another and the life of the Chaplaincy today.

There was a gathering of former members for an Open Afternoon on 6th June 2009. The afternoon began with a Eucharist service led by the Archbishop of Wales, Most Revd Dr Barry Morgan (Chaplain and Warden 1977-84). Visitors then had a chance to socialise and look around the buildings over refreshments prepared by current students. Archbishop Barry gave an inspirational lecture on University Chaplaincy in the 21st Century and the afternoon finished with a presentation by the Chaplain and current students about their experience of Bangor and the vision of the Chaplaincy for its future.

Friends and former members support the ongoing life and work of the Chaplaincy in many practical ways. There have been very generous donations in recent years of electronics, books and furniture, and well as money. If you would like to help in this way please contact the Chaplain.
